Mousso Ouédraogo dit Mourinho rend hommage à Kamou Malo, ancien sélectionneur des Étalons du Burkina Faso et actuel entraîneur de l'AS Douanes, à la suite de la double confrontation contre l'Etoile Filante de Ouagadougou (EFO) qui les a battu en championnat et éliminé en demi-finale de la Coupe du Faso 2023. La demi-finale entre l'AS Douanes et l'EFO a connu plusieurs tensions dont celle des supporters de l'EFO empêchant Kamou Malo d'entrer dans les vestiaires.

« Kamou Malo ne mérite pas l'ambiance qu'on a créé autour de lui à travers les deux confrontations face à l'Etoile Filante de Ouagadougou (EFO). Je pense que ça n'engage que moi. Je suis quelqu'un qui a toujours été contre la violence . C'est quelqu’un qui n'a rien à prouver dans ce Faso foot. Il a tout donné et c'est une fierté pour nous d'avoir quelqu'un ou une icône qui tire la jeune génération vers le haut. Quand vous jouez contre lui, vous avez l'impression de le battre pour dire après que vous l' avez battu. Si tous les entraîneurs étaient au même niveau, qui rêverait de gagner qui ?

Donc, je pense que c'est ça aussi qui amène la jeune génération à donner plus, à travailler sur le plan technique et tactique, élever le niveau pour rattraper le niveau qu'il a. Donc ce Monsieur ne mérite pas le traitement qu'on lui a donné.

Deuxième aspect, ce Monsieur a été notre ambassadeur au niveau de l'équipe nationale. Il ne nous a pas apporté le trophée mais il ne nous a pas aussi dénigré. Il nous a donné la quatrième place avec les moyens qu'il avait à sa disposition. Donc je pense que c'est un Monsieur qu'il faut respecter, quelque soit l'enjeu, quelque soit les circonstances qui se trouvent autour du match. Je pense qu'il faut qu'on recadre certaines choses et qu'il faut donner le respect à ce Monsieur. Et si moi j'ai la possibilité de le voir personnellement, je lui dirai de ne plus se mettre au niveau du Faso foot parce qu'il n'a plus rien à prouver. On n'a jamais été prophète chez-soi. Quand vous êtes chez vous et qu'on ne vous respecte pas à votre juste et valeur, il a un CV assez étoffé pour essayer de toucher certains clubs de la sous-région. Pourquoi ne pas tenter ailleurs ? Je pense qu'en étant à l'extérieur et en revenant nous battre ici, on va lui donner le respect qu'il doit parce qu'il faut dépassionner le débat.
